Resurge Recovery’s outpatient programming offers several evidence-based options to meet individual needs, goals, and objectives. We offer a mixture of individual counseling, group counseling, medication assisted treatment and family groups/sessions and support to help clients achieve and maintain recovery.
In an effort to follow social distancing guidelines and/or reduce barriers to attendance, Resurge Recovery offers distance outpatient treatment via video conference. Details regarding scheduling and guidelines will depend on current CDC guidelines and the individual client.
Intensive Outpatient
Resurge Recovery uses various curricula that address the disease model of substance use disorder, early recovery skills, relapse prevention, and other modules. A family education component is also included. Topics include triggers, thought-stopping, trust, harm reduction, mental health, wellness, and risky behaviors. Clients will meet with their clinician weekly to explore the possible changes in their lifestyle and behaviors that would help to reduce or eliminate further substance use. In addition to individual sessions, Resurge Recovery uses group therapy as an important component to recovery-oriented care. Groups usually meet three times a week for a total of nine hours per week.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
At Resurge Recovery, clients have access to Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). Medical evidence supports the fact that substance use disorder and the recovery process are commonly marked by strong cravings for continued use of substances despite a person’s choice not to, even after successful completion of detoxification and treatment. These cravings can interfere with treatment and increase the risk of relapse. As it is standard of care, Resurge Recovery offers medications that have been proven to reduce cravings and support recovery, for those who are interested and meet the clinical criteria. The combination of medication with non-medication therapies helps to sustain recovery.
Substance Use Treatment
Resurge Recovery offers outpatient individual, family, and group therapy covering a wide range of topics, some being gender specific. Topics include (but are not limited to) relapse prevention, recovery strategies, utilizing a sober support system and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). Resurge Recovery understands that the use of medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, is effective in the treatment of opioid use disorders (OUD) and can help some people to sustain recovery. Use of medication-assisted treatment will be presented for individuals who meet the criteria and offered to those who are interested.
